BallyCara is looking for an energetic, creative, and resident-focused Leisure & Lifestyle Officer – SONA Champion to bring our vibrant lifestyle program to life in residential aged care.

About the Role

As our SONA Champion, you’ll be at the heart of resident life — designing and delivering meaningful lifestyle experiences that foster:

  • Purpose and independence
  • Connection and belonging
  • Joy, dignity, and choice

You’ll plan and lead engaging activities, events, and outings tailored to residents’ individual interests, life stories, and care plans. You’ll also role model BallyCara’s SONA® values in every interaction with residents, families, volunteers, and colleagues.

This is a role where your ideas are welcomed, your relationships matter, and your work has visible impact every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging individual and group lifestyle programs
  • Creating and maintaining a vibrant monthly lifestyle calendar
  • Supporting safe and meaningful community outings
  • Partnering with residents and families to co-design experiences
  • Building strong relationships with care teams, volunteers, and allied health
  • Championing residents’ rights, dignity, and individuality
  • Bringing the SONA® culture to life through creativity, warmth, and integrity


Skills And Experiences

What We’re Looking For

*Passion - Creativity - People-Centred - Energetic - Charismatic*

You’ll bring:

  • Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy (essential)
  • Experience delivering person-centred lifestyle programs in aged care
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Creativity, energy, and a genuine love for engaging older people
  • Excellent organisation and documentation skills
  • A collaborative, values-driven mindset

Bonus points for:

  • Diploma in Leisure & Health / Diversional Therapy
  • Event coordination experience

Position Requirements

  • Satisfactory police check (or willingness to obtain through BallyCara)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • COVID and Influenza vaccinations highly recommended
