About the Role
As our SONA Champion, you’ll be at the heart of resident life — designing and delivering meaningful lifestyle experiences that foster:
- Purpose and independence
- Connection and belonging
- Joy, dignity, and choice
You’ll plan and lead engaging activities, events, and outings tailored to residents’ individual interests, life stories, and care plans. You’ll also role model BallyCara’s SONA® values in every interaction with residents, families, volunteers, and colleagues.
This is a role where your ideas are welcomed, your relationships matter, and your work has visible impact every single day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging individual and group lifestyle programs
- Creating and maintaining a vibrant monthly lifestyle calendar
- Supporting safe and meaningful community outings
- Partnering with residents and families to co-design experiences
- Building strong relationships with care teams, volunteers, and allied health
- Championing residents’ rights, dignity, and individuality
- Bringing the SONA® culture to life through creativity, warmth, and integrity
Skills And Experiences
What We’re Looking For
*Passion - Creativity - People-Centred - Energetic - Charismatic*
You’ll bring:
- Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or Diversional Therapy (essential)
- Experience delivering person-centred lifestyle programs in aged care
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Creativity, energy, and a genuine love for engaging older people
- Excellent organisation and documentation skills
- A collaborative, values-driven mindset
Bonus points for:
- Diploma in Leisure & Health / Diversional Therapy
- Event coordination experience
Position Requirements
- Satisfactory police check (or willingness to obtain through BallyCara)
- Right to work in Australia
- Current First Aid & CPR
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations highly recommended
