Behaviour Intervention Specialist
Location: Scarborough
Contract: Part-time to start | Potential for Full-time/Permanent
Pay: Competitive (Depending on experience)
We’re working with a forward-thinking school in Scarborough that is looking to appoint a Behaviour Intervention Specialist to join their team. This is a key role in helping students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs regulate their emotions, access learning, and build the skills needed for independence and success.
This role will begin on a part-time basis, with the view to progress into a full-time or permanent position for the right person.
Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
Implementing de-escalation strategies and promoting emotional regulation
Encouraging independence and resilience through consistent support
Supporting students in and out of the classroom in a structured, safe environment
Working closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to ensure a joined-up approach
Experience working in an SEMH, PRU, or behaviour-focused setting (desirable)
A calm, proactive, and resilient approach to challenging behaviour
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with students
A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning
