Catering Manager

We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Catering Manager to take overall responsibility for our restaurant at Dean’s Scarborough Garden Centre, leading both front and back of house teams to create a welcoming, well-run and enjoyable place to work and dine. This is a key role within Yorkshire Garden Centres, offering real ownership, variety and the chance to make a genuine impact every day.

You’ll lead by example, build a positive and engaged team culture, and ensure our restaurant consistently delivers great food, great service and high standards.

This role is working 40 hours per week, with a consistent Tuesday off.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead, motivate and develop both front and back of house teams
• Own the day-to-day running of the restaurant
• Manage staffing, rotas, holidays and sickness year-round
• Recruit new team members with support from People & Culture
• Oversee stock, ordering, wastage and budgets
• Ensure full compliance with food safety and legal requirements
• Maintain high standards of presentation and customer readiness
• Resolve customer and employee issues effectively
• Keep front and back of house teams communicating for smooth service

What we’re looking for

• Catering or hospitality management experience
• Confident, people-focused leader with strong organisation skills
• Experience managing rotas, staff and budgets
• Passion for food, presentation and customer service
• Decisive, proactive, able to influence and motivate
• Clear communicator, planner and problem-solver
• Resilient under pressure and adaptable to change
