• Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 CAN + Profit Sharing

 As the Senior Dispatcher, you will be the go-to expert responsible for daily fleet operations, driver support and ensuring safe, efficient, customer focused service. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Dispatch & Routing

• Plan, schedule, and dispatch drivers for daily collection, transfer, and delivery routes
• Optimize routes to maximize service efficiency and equipment utilization
• Monitor real-time activity and adjust schedules for delays, breakdowns, or customer changes
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, route boards, and digital records
• Coordinate third‑party carrier support when needed

 Driver Support & Team Leadership

• Serve as the senior point of contact for drivers and junior dispatchers
• Provide guidance, training, and problem-solving support
• Assist in planning manpower needs and daily driver assignments

 Customer Communication & Service Excellence

• Communicate proactively with customers regarding service times, delays, and special requests
• Respond promptly to inquiries and resolve service issues professionally
• Collaborate with customer service and plant operations to ensure seamless workflow

Operational Coordination & Continuous Improvement

• Track and report daily KPIs (on‑time performance, route efficiency, asset utilization)
• Partner with maintenance to schedule equipment downtime and ensure fleet readiness
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and Cascades safety standards
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance productivity, cost control, and driver experience

 RELEVANT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Strong knowledge of routing, dispatching practices, and transportation regulations
• Proficient with dispatch systems, GPS/telematics tools, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced operations environment
• Commitment to safety, service quality, and teamwork

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of dispatching experience in waste/recycling required.
• Experience in a high-volume dispatch or multi-route operation preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency using Excel and PowerBI
