We know how to turn a spud into something fantastic. And our Operational Technicians play a huge part in ensuring our shift teams continuously drive performance through the ability to fault find and improve our systems.

It’s a job that involves lots of influencing. You work alongside the shift teams, coaching and engaging them to improve technical understanding and embed ownership at operator level.

Accountabilities.

You’ll be a technical expert within a production role and it’s a given that you will have experience of factory systems, ideally within an FMCG environment.

Reporting into the Shift Area Operational Leader you’ll also have…

• Knowledge of continuous improvement and an eye for improving systems and processes
• Ability to recognise technical concepts, a problem solving mind-set and able to soak up new information quickly
• Experience of training and coaching colleagues to standards
• An excellent knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
• Experience of influencing others through confident communication
• Strong prioritisation skills, and be able to organise your own time
• The confidence to be accountable, taking ownership and driving your own initiative
• The ability to bounce back, be self-motivated even under tough circumstances
• Strong working relationships, and able to work with lots of different people and teams

Shift Pattern.

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

Location.

You’ll be based at our Scarborough plant in North Yorkshire. We opened this plant back in the swinging sixties, but it’s definitely not stuck in the past. It’s one of the largest French fry factories in the world and after a recent development, it’s also one of the most high tech. Our team of over 300 colleagues work hard to make sure the quality of our products keep our customers returning for more, for now and years to come.
