About the role
As our Facilities Officer – Maintenance, you’ll help keep our buildings, equipment, facilities, grounds and shared spaces safe, functional and looking their best.
This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to use your skills every day. You’ll work across a diverse environment, responding to maintenance requests, completing planned and reactive works, and helping identify opportunities to improve our facilities.
No two days are likely to look exactly the same.
What you’ll be doing
Your days could include:
- Carrying out general maintenance and repairs across the village
- Undertaking carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing and painting tasks
- Maintaining buildings, facilities and shared spaces to a high standard
- Responding to maintenance requests from residents and staff
- Completing work orders and planned maintenance tasks
- Identifying maintenance issues and opportunities for improvement
- Safely operating tools, equipment and vehicles
- Supporting event set-up and pack-down across the village
- Working collaboratively with the broader BallyCara team
- Following all WHS requirements and safe work practices
Skills And Experiences
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and taking pride in their work.
You’ll ideally have:
- A relevant trade qualification — Carpentry, Plumbing or Electrical highly regarded
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar hands-on role
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A reliable, proactive and can-do attitude
- Good communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused approach
- A strong commitment to safety and quality
- A current Australian driver’s licence (essential)
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who understands that good maintenance is about more than fixing a problem — it’s about creating an environment where people feel safe, comfortable and at home.

- Satisfactory police check, or willingness to obtain one through BallyCara
- Right to work in Australia
