Whether you’re new to the field, exploring a career change, recently graduated, or already working in care, this role offers the chance to join a friendly and dedicated service making a genuine impact across North Yorkshire.

About the Brokerage Service

Our Brokerage Service is a well‑established, countywide team responsible for sourcing care packages and placements to meet assessed health and social care needs for adults. As a Broker, you will play a vital part in:

  • Developing and maintaining accurate information on local care providers
  • Sourcing appropriate care packages to support people’s needs
  • Completing contracts and handling associated financial and administrative tasks
  • Supporting safe and timely hospital discharges in collaboration with health colleagues
  • Working closely with internal teams, external partners and providers to improve outcomes for residents

This role is essential to helping more people across North Yorkshire live longer, healthier and more independent lives.

What we’re looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Strong time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Confidence using spreadsheets, databases and handling information quickly
  • A proactive, organised and customer‑focused approach
  • The ability to work well under pressure during periods of high demand
  • A commitment to delivering excellent service to both internal and external customers

While previous experience in health or social care is helpful, it’s not essential, we’re looking for individuals who are motivated, flexible, and eager to learn.

Why join us?

Our Health and Adult Services Directorate is a supportive, welcoming and high-performing place to work. We take pride in our strong track record as a leading care service provider and consistently rank among the top performing county councils nationally.

In return for your commitment, we offer:

  • Hybrid working with flexibility and work‑life balance
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Access to our award‑winning ‘Everybody Benefits’ employee benefits programme
  • Ongoing supervision, training, and career development
  • Flexible leave policies
