Job: Senior Accountant

Location: York

Salary: Up to £45,000 for the right person

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a fast growing and forward thinking accountancy practice in York. This is an ideal role for someone looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while working somewhere that genuinely wants to support you and help you develop further. 

You'll work closely with ambitious owner managed businesses, providing both compliance and advisory services, while mentoring junior members of the team and building long term client relationships.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant role include:

• Managing a portfolio of owner managed business clients
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Preparing corporation tax returns
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Providing proactive business advice and support
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members
• Supporting and mentoring trainees
• Working closely with Partners and colleagues across the business
• Identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services

Requirements of the Senior Accountant role include:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Previous experience within UK accountancy practice
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills
